Welcome

In response to the article recently published by the Washington Post, The Tree House would like to make the following statement:

The mission of the Tree House Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County MD is to provide hope and healing to child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect. Our staff includes medical professionals, social workers, mental health therapists and support staff. The team is honest and hard-working and simply seeks to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable victims in our community.

We were all shocked and saddened that the grievances of these former employees have threatened the mission of this organization. A joint investigation found no evidence of fraud nor malfeasance on the part of the Tree House and its staff.

We would like to thank all of our partners and supporters who have reached out to us with their kind words. We truly appreciate it.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like more information regarding the Tree House, please feel free to contact us directly at contact@treehousemd.org. We look forward to growing the Tree House as we continue to serve the needs of the most vulnerable children in Montgomery County.

A Message From the Tree House CAC on our response to COVID-19

Dear Friends of the Tree House CAC:

The past several weeks has been a challenging time in our nation’s history, as we are all greatly impacted by the ongoing pandemic caused by COVID-19. As we navigate this unique situation, the Tree House CAC is working diligently to continue to meet our mission by providing services to our clients in need. As our operation remains open, the health and well-being of our staff, clients, and their families will always be our top priority.

It is important that we make the right decisions during this crisis to put the health of the global community first. Out of an abundance of caution, the Tree House has limited evening hours and the number of visitors at our onsite location and are implementing Telehealth services for our clients, as appropriate. The Tree House CAC has also moved forward in cancelling The Tree House Tour de Cookie 2020, scheduled on May 2nd. As many of you may be aware, The Tree House Tour de Cookie is the Tree House CAC’s only fundraiser, and brings in a significant amount of funding for our organization. However, we were following CDC and county guidelines when the decision was made with the health and safety of our riders, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and supporters being our utmost concern.

Moreover, we would like to say thank you to all those who have reached out and supported us thus far, whether it be monetary donations, or grocery store gift cards to give out to our clients who have been displaced and out of work due to the pandemic. We are best suited to meet our mission thanks to your generosity. If you are interested in donating to the Tree House CAC please reach out to us at contact@treehousemd.org or visit our website at treehousemd.org, where you can also find more information on COVID-19 and how to help your family cope during this hardship. Thank you. Please continue to follow the recommendation of our public health leaders, and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Tom Grazio, Director
The Tree House Child Advocacy Center
