TREE HOUSE AND MEDIMMUNE EMPLOYEES COLLABORATE TO BRING GIFTS AND JOY TO THE LIVES OF LOCAL CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
DERWOOD, MD, December 15, 2011 – The Tree House, Child Assessment Center of Montgomery County Maryland in conjunction with charitable efforts from employees at MedImmune, worked to support over 100 children and families from the Montgomery County Area, with holiday gifts and essential items.
The Tree House provided MedImmune with "snowflake" tags that listed the children's names, ages and sizes. Donors "sponsored" a child by purchasing a holiday gift and/or clothing.
Volunteers donated clothing, games, educational toys, and other requested items to help support victimized children who come from underprivileged families. The gifts helped show that there are caring and loving people in the area, furthering The Tree House’s mission to help develop trusting and loving relationships among their target population.
“MedImmune employees really look forward to this time of year, when they can give back to the community and play a key role in helping to make a family’s holiday a little brighter,” said Natalie Shuster, Community Affairs Associate at MedImmune.
Pamela Hendershot, the acting director of The Tree House exclaimed, “I cannot begin to describe the rush of joy and exhilaration we felt as bicycle after bicycle and bag after bag filled with holiday gifts arrived at The Tree House. THANK YOU to all of the MedImmune employees whose generosity and kindness helped over 100 children and families experience a brighter holiday season.”
