Sponsored by Clarks Concepts is the 2023 Bike Rodeo event brought to you by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MCDOT). MCDOT hosts its annual Bike Rodeo events to educate kids on the importance of transportation safety through interactive events that inform students how to safely ride bikes and scooters in their community. And yes, scooters are welcome!
The team will start the event off with a Helmet Fitting by performing a Helmet Check and teaching the proper way to wear your helmet and how much spacing the helmet straps should have, followed by an ABC Check which should be performed each time before riding your bike. Once everyone is set, the team will conduct a Course Walk-through Demonstration that teaches kids the proper way to signal drivers of your intended direction. Crosswalks, stop signs, cones and red lights will be a part of the Bike Rodeos course. Rodeo registration does not require an adult registration however children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The Bike Rodeo does not allow children to be unaccompanied.
An Information Table will be present for any questions the families have. An informational Packet will be given to parents and students to take home for tips on how to be safe on the road while riding.
Once everyone is set with safety tips the team will do games and contests. So come on out and join the fun at this year’s 2023 Bike Rodeo Event.
In addition to the Bike Rodeo, the Tree House of Montgomery County will be hosting the 10th annual Tour de Cookie for ages 7 and up. Lots of fun festivities will follow along with Vendors and Food will be available.
